Happy New Year!!

Ready or not, 2022 is now upon us!  If you’re like me, you usually start the year off with New Year’s Resolutions and by the end of January those resolutions are out the window.  I’d like to propose an alternative to this, vision boarding!

A vision board is a collage of images and words that provide a tangible reflection of our aspirations.  It’s a spin on the traditional ‘New Years Resolution’.

This was my first year creating a vision board and it was so fun and inspiring.  Here are some takeaways I gained from the experience:

VISION BOARD TIPS:

  1. Goals, Goals, Goals! Take time to beforehand to jot down your goals.  These can be short-term, long-term, or even goals separated by quarter.  This is your vision board so think about what you feel will benefit your unique needs.  I chose to focus on personal, professional, and spiritual long-term goals.
  2. Include Inspiration. What inspires you?  A favorite quote, bible verse, song lyrics, your family?  Include these on your board.  Inspiration is what propels us to our dreams.  I’m inspired by affirmations that remind me of who I am and why my goals exist.
  3. Get Supplies. It’s helpful to have all supplies at arm’s reach during your vision board session.  Here are some supplies I recommend:  1) Board, 2) Old Magazines/Printed Images, 3) Glue/Push pins, 4) Markers, 5) Scissors, 6) Sticky Notes
  4. Have Fun! Your vision boarding session should be relaxing and enjoyable.  Use this as a self-care time, a girl’s night, or a date-night-in.  I did mine virtually with my best girlfriends! Grab the wine, a charcuterie board, and bring on the fun!
  5. Hang It Up! Hang your vision board in a place where you will see it often. This can be your home office, the inside of your closet, your bathroom wall; anywhere that you frequent. Enjoy!

APPLICABLE BIBLE VERSES:

Isaiah 43: 18-19, Jeremiah 29:11
